Panasonic i-PRO introduces automated video identity redaction solution
Panasonic Public Safety Solutions Division, part of Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions, is now offering an identity redaction tool which automates video and sensitive content editing, saving up to 90 percent of the time necessary to do the work manually, the company announced.
“In developing this solution, Panasonic has combined AI and machine learning technology to automate the video redaction process,” said Bill Brennan, President of Panasonic i-Pro Sensing Solutions Corporation of America, in a prepared statement. “Panasonic IDguard can greatly lighten the burden for hardworking law enforcement officers.”
Dubbed IDguard, the AI technology makes it easier for law enforcement to process the high video volume collected from body cameras and dashcams, as well as respond to Freedom-of-Information-Act requests by automating face redaction to preserve privacy. Agencies can streamline file editing tasks and save time previously spent on uploading, storing, searching, editing, and sharing video content.
IDguard allows multiple video uploads for overnight redaction processing and multi-user management. It is compatible with MP4 videos, including from iPhones and Android devices, it has flexible configuration features for on-premises as well as cloud-based storage. Due to ingestion APIs, IDguard can be easily integrated with existing systems, including Panasonic i-PRO’s Unified Digital Evidence (UDE) solution, the company says.
Other companies offering similar services include Secure Redact and D-ID.
