New biometric partnerships: Tascent for air travel, Alcatraz for healthcare

Tascent and airport lounge solution provider Information Engineering Group (IEG) announced a new biometrics partnership on Wednesday.

The companies will focus on delivering a touchless, streamlined experience with biometric facial recognition for customers using airport lounges.

Travelers will be able to enroll with the opt-in service via their mobile devices prior to departure and be automatically identified upon arrival at the lounge.

The new solution works via integrating Tascent’s InSight Face devices and Tascent Enterprise Suite into IEG’s Airport Lounge Access systems, thus minimizing close physical contact while retaining high-level customer service.

The IEG-Tascent VIP Lounge Access Solution is already available to VIP Lounge customers.

Alcatraz partners with TRL Systems

Alcatraz has entered an agreement with TRL Systems that will see the safety and security solutions provider sell and market Alcatraz’s biometric access control technologies on the West Coast and in the healthcare market.

Following the start of the partnership, TRL, which integrates systems for fire prevention, safety and security, will incorporate Alcatraz’s Rock touchless access control platform into its access control offerings.

“TRL is extremely happy to partner with what we consider is cutting-edge technology,” says TRL Systems Security Division General Manager Gary Chavarria. “Alcatraz offers the ability to provide TRL customers facial authentication at the perimeter and every point of in/egress. The ability to provide not just facial authentication but dual authentication (badge access control) is priceless. This is something that will become standard moving forward and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront.”

The Alcatraz Rock provides facial recognition with 3D sensing and artificial intelligence to enable highly secure and functional entry into physical locations, the company says. The Rock systems also feature tailgating detection, while intelligently enrolling employees as they are badging in, thus eliminating the need for traditional onboarding.

To comply with the latest COVID-19 measures, the Rock has recently added a mask detection feature to identify mask-wearing individuals and allow companies to continue operations.
