Hitachi ID, Idex Biometrics, Daon and Clearview AI announce leadership, board appointments

Several digital identity and biometric technology providers have made additions to leadership teams across the globe. Hitachi ID has announced a trio of executive appointments, while Idex Biometrics has brought in a payments expert as an advisor. Daon is opening an office in Singapore and has chosen regional VP to lead it, and Clearview AI has added to its customer-facing team.

Hitachi ID has a new CEO, appointing Kevin Nix to lead the company’s efforts to secure enterprise customers’ systems against digital identity and access vulnerabilities and threats.

Hitachi completed its acquisition of Hitachi ID in early 2020. Hitachi ID supplies identity and access management solutions to Fortune 5000 companies globally.

Nix has successfully founded and sold three SaaS startups, and grew Siebel/Oracle’s call center and industry solution business from revenues of zero to over $1 billion in early 2000s, according to the announcement.

Hitachi ID has also appointed Nick Brown as its chief revenue officer and Ian Reay as VP of engineering.

Idex Biometrics board advisor

Thomas M. Quindlen has joined Idex Biometrics’ Board of Directors as a non-voting observer and advisor.

Quindlen is executive vice president and CEO of the Retail Card business at Synchrony, which is a Fortune 200 financial services company. He brings strong leadership experience in payments and sales, consumer finance and payment card solutions, corporate finance, client management, marketing and auditing, according to the announcement.

The appointment is pending board election at Idex Biometrics’ next shareholder meeting.

Daon Regional VP for South East Asia, Singapore office

Daon is opening a new office in Singapore and has appointed Trilochan Sehgal to lead it in the position of regional vice president for South East Asia, as it seeks to capitalize on the growth of digital banking in the region.

Sehgal brings more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity to the company, including leading IBM’s identity and access management software business for the APAC region.

Many customers in the region have recently fast-tracked their digitization efforts, according to Sehgal.

Clearview AI Senior Director of Identity and Customer Engagement

Clearview AI has promoted Kevin Haskins to the position of senior director of identity and customer engagement to deliver the company’s biometric facial recognition technology to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, according to a Linkedin post.

Haskins joined Clearview in August in a similar role, without the “senior” designation, after stints at Motorola Solutions, and at Cognitec, where he was a channel and account executive for FaceVACS facial recognition software.
