Impact of IrisGuard iris biometrics recognized with Million Lives Club designation

IrisGuard has been announced as a Vanguard member of The Million Lives Club initiative, which comprises a global community of partners who are committed to supporting societal and humanitarian impact, for its iris biometric solutions.

IrisGuard specializes in providing efficient assistance delivery systems with their iris recognition platform EyePay, which the company says ensures 100 percent accurate biometric identification. The EyePay technology is a complete service solution for a secure financial delivery platform that replaces the use of cards, PINs, usernames and passwords with a blink of an eye to authenticate a transaction in less than three seconds, according to IrisGuard’s website. The company is already partnered with the UNHCR, WFP, UN Women, NGOs and retail banks.

Delivering cash and other forms of assistance can also be done in real time, to any world location. Iris Guard’s biometric technology therefore allows for example, food purchases in supermarkets and transferring of pension payments, and is supported on Windows and Android.

EyePay uses high levels of encryption to ensure data privacy, as well as targeted fraud elimination, protecting beneficiary personal entitlement. IrisGuard plans for its biometric technology to reach 12 million people in the next 24 months.

The Million Lives Club runs three cohorts of innovators and social entrepreneurs; Vanguard celebrates those who have directly impacted 100,000,000 or more clients with their innovations, according to their website.

IrisGuard also posted a video last month promoting the strong security and data privacy its technology provides, and how it helps improve accountability. According to the video, its iris biometric technology has saved billions in aid funding, including an estimated 20 percent of the cost of aid to people affected by the Syrian crisis over the past eight years.
