US Justice department division deploys PortalGuard IAM for secure authentication

BIO-key International’s PortalGuard access and identity management (IAM) solution is now being used by a division of the United States Justice department for secure authentication and to enable logical system access.

The deployment means the biometrics-based identity and access management solutions company will provide the justice department institution with a strong multi-factor authentication system, according to the announcement. The IDaaS system will also enable them avoid user frustration and help reduce desk costs for customers, it adds.

The president of BIO-key’s PortalGuard, Mark Cochran, said it is the company’s pleasure to work with and support the national security program of the justice department with the identity management solution.

“The BIO-key team has extensive experience supporting many of our national security and law enforcement agency customers which secure the nation from the many threats they face, both foreign and domestic. PortalGuard enables these government agencies to meet the challenges of an evolving threat landscape while securing their operations in a cost-effective manner,” said Cochran.

BIO-key has been rapidly expanding its market with the PortalGuard solution which is currently being deployed by a number of U.S. colleges, health institutions and government agencies for secure remote authentication and identification.
