4Gid to add biometrics to traveler tracking in India
4G Identity Solutions (4Gid) will supply, install and integrate biometric technology for India’s Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) system.
The core objective of the IVFRT System is to develop and implement a safe, secure and integrated service delivery framework that facilitates legitimate travelers to India while strengthening security.
The integration of biometrics with the IVFRT system will enable enrolment of the traveler’s biometrics and subsequent verification of their identity at different immigration check points thereby enabling the fast and efficient identification of travelers.
“4Gid has significantly invested in the verticals of e-immigration, e-visa and border identity management based on biometric and ICT technologies and we are extremely satisfied with this win as it once again signifies our system integration capabilities in delivering large scale national ID projects,” said Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni, Chairman and CEO of 4G Identity Solutions.
The Government of India selected 4G Identity Solutions after a stringent technical evaluation. Under terms of the contract 4Gid will supply 4-4-2 fingerprint devices, single fingerprint devices, and a software development kit for enrolment, segmentation, and quality check, along with a minex complaint algorithm for minutia based matching.
The Ministry of Home Affairs will administer the project.
