Genkey launches new biometric SDK

GenKey has announced the release of a new version of its biometric SDK, including FastAFIS and BioHash.

FastAFIS and BioHASH are biometric matching technologies developed through GenKey’s R&D division. FastAFIS allows for the fast matching of fingerprints and is a core technology of many deduplication systems. BioHASH is an ISO compliant biometric matching technology, and according to the company, its templates can be stored in a secure way in database or on 2D barcodes.

According to the company, the new release of the SDK shows significant performance improvements  in terms of both speed and accuracy as well as possibility to successfully match people with poor quality fingerprints.

“The new release is the result of a multi-year R&D investment, which will continue to position GenKey as a developer and provider of best-in-class biometric technology”, Michiel van der Veen, CEO of GenKey said. “The updated technology will be the basis for further strengthening our position as the leading partner for biometric identity solutions in the Africa region.”

Reported previously, GenKey announced a couple of new appointments early this year. The company added Jack ‘t Mannetje sales director for west and north Africa, and Patrick Gilmore as director of sales.
