TangoWire adds BeehiveID biometric verification to eliminate fraud

Online dating community, TangoWire has implemented a biometric verification system from BeehiveID.

Specifically, the new Beehive ID system uses social network analysis and facial recognition to detect the patterns of real people and eliminate fraudulent accounts.

“Trust is a key issue to our customers,” Bryan Brown, CEO of TangoWire said. “Since we launched BeehiveID, we’ve seen a 21% increase in the number of members participating in the verification process. This is significant because it clearly demonstrates that trust has a substantial impact on participation. We’ve also seen a 30% increase in the number of subscribers who are being successfully verified.”

“In the physical world, robbers wear masks. But on the internet, people who intend to commit fraud wear fake identities. Real people have a complex web of online connections through interactions such as Facebook likes, Tweets, check-ins, and uploaded photographs. These complex interactions cannot be faked by fraudsters,” BeehiveID’s CEO Mary Haskett said.

“We have noticed profiles that have been verified with BeehiveID are getting significantly more traffic and generate more interest from other members,” Brown said. “Since we’ve begun offering the new verification system, we’ve been impressed with its 95% success rate at spotting fake identities. Every year, more and more people are meeting others through sites like TangoWire.com and SinglesPlace.com, so we will continue to introduce cutting edge technology like BeehiveID in order to protect our members.”

Reported previously, In May 2013, Beehive received $50,000 from a lone investor shortly after launch.
