CARTES America SESAMES Award shortlist announced, biometric players on the list

Finalists for the first American SESAMES Awards have been announced, and biometrics makes an appearance in every category.

Awards will be given out in three categories: Emerging Payments, Card Manufacturing and Identification.

Finalists for the emerging payments category includes, Oberthur Technologies for the Omni-channel Wallet, RAOM for the RP750x and Sequoia Retails Systems for its QuadPoint Compact Register.

Finalists in card manufacturing include Oberthur Technologies for Lasnik, SKIMPROT and SmartDisplayer Technology for the iCARD4.

As for identification, Bringham Scully Public Relations for Zwipe Biometric Card, DigitalPersona for the Altus and GOTrust Technology for its SDencrypter Lite have been picked as finalists.

Winners will be announced on May 13 at CARTES America 2014, set to take place in Las Vegas from May 13-15, 2014.

According to Comexposium, organizer of the CARTES events, CARTES America aims to help payment, identification and authentication industries navigate the market. This year’s even boasts 80 speakers, 6 tracks and 5 keynotes.
