Biometrics identity and mobile payment conference in Japan

Egis Technology announced it will be hosting the “Evolution of Biometrics Identity & Mobile Payment” conference on September 24 in Tokyo, Japan.

Nok Nok Labs and the FIDO Alliance are also helping to organize the conference alongside EgisTec.

The conference will address biometric technology and mobile payment industry trends, along with their relationship with the flourishing global ecommerce market and will be attended by mobile operators, handsets, and third party payment industries from the United States, Japan, and China.

In addition to keynote presentations, the FIDO Alliance, Nok Nok and EgisTec will provide demonstrations of products and applications to emphasize and further push the collaboration amongst the different industries.

“It is an exciting to see another FIDO end-to-end solution delivered by collaborative work from EgisTec and Nok Nok Labs,” said FIDO Alliance president Michael Barrett. “EgisTec is a known leader in the biometrics and multi-factor security space, and we greatly look forward to their contributions to the Alliance.”

“Nok Nok Labs has established a strategic relationship with EgisTec to create an end-to-end FIDO Fingerprint solution based on specifications released by the FIDO Alliance,” said Rajiv Dholakia, VP of product management at Nok Nok Labs. “EgisTec’s touch sensor technology will allow OEM manufacturers to build FIDO authenticators to fit into small form factor devices and also expand the reach of Nok Nok’s technology to more devices. The combination of Nok Nok and EgisTecs’ technology delivers strong and simple authentication to drive payments.”

Attendance and participation is by invitation only. Check out the Egistec web site for more information.
