Macy’s launches line of bags, briefcases and wallets integrated with fingerprint recognition

Macy’s, Inc. has launched a new line of luxury handbags, briefcases, and wallets that are integrated with fingerprint recognition, RFID blocking technology, and GPS technology that are designed to protect the consumer’s private possessions.

Design by Macy’s first luxury technology designer, Royce Leather CEO Andrew Royce Bauer, the collection features the world’s first security bag integrated with DNA based fingerprint technology.

Featuring hand-milled hardware coupled with Italian Saffiano Leather, the Royce Leather Freedom Briefcase enables only a single user to access the bag by scanning his or her fingerprint.

“Macy’s represents the greatest platform in the world to showcase fashion in its most innovative forms,” said Bauer. “If you have items to protect, I have found the solution.”

The security of the bag is reaffirmed by U.S. government-certified radio frequency identification blocking technology to prevent electronic identity theft.

The collection by Royce Leather is now available exclusively at Macy’s and includes bags, wallets, and handbags for men and women.
