Miaxis Biometrics receives order for 1.4m fingerprint algorithm licenses from European firm

 

Miaxis Biometrics announced that it has received an initial purchase order for 1.4 million fingerprint algorithm licenses for an embedded solution from an undisclosed European company within the fingerprint sensor market.

All 1.4 million Miaxis fingerprint algorithm licenses are scheduled for delivery by the end of the year.

The undisclosed European company performed a long period of testing and system level product development until it finally decided to put in an order for Miaxis fingerprint algorithm licenses.

“We are very happy to secure this partner,” said Miaxis Biometrics CEO Jerry Lee. “The fact that Miaxis fingerprint algorithms [has a] significantly higher performance than other algorithms represents major opportunities for market expansion.”

China-based Miaxis specializes in biometrics products R&D, manufacturing and distribution.

Miaxis develops a range of fingerprint modules and fingerprint readers for time attendance, access control, door locks, car locks, and fingerprint pos.

The company’s products serve clients in the banking, security, and government and military sectors.

The fingerprint algorithm is targeted for products including smartphones, tablets, PC’s, doors, time registration systems, payment terminals, flashdrives, Usb-tokens, and key fobs.

Previously reported, Miaxis Biometrics released its latest SM-621N fingerprint module, which enables users to perform a range of functions including fingerprint image process, template extraction, template match, template search, and template store.
