Biometrics and identity assurance software developer Daon announced that its mobile biometric authentication platform IdentityX won NACUSO’s Next Big Idea competition, held at the association’s annual meeting in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Selected by audience vote, Daon was one of five finalists that made presentations on stage and answered questions from a panel of judges, which included Daymond Johns of ABC reality show, Shark Tank.

IdentityX is a mobile biometric authentication platform that gives financial institutions the ability to enable their clients to perform a financial transaction at anytime, anywhere, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

The biometric authentication solution captures a video of the customer’s face and voice via a mobile device to authenticate the individual, all without the need for a password or user name.

The platform is used by more than 180,000 USAA members to access their accounts.

Earlier this year, Daon also won the Best of Show award from the CUNA Technology Council at CUNA’s GAC.

Previously reported, IdentityX launched a mobile authentication app designed for Salesforce users.
