Swisscom selects Touchless Biometric Systems for data center access control

Touchless Biometric Systems announced that telecommunications firm Swisscom has selected its 3D touchless terminals to integrated into Securiton’s full access control system for its newest data center in Switzerland.

All systems, including IP video surveillance, are monitored from the control room of Swisscom’s data center.

The building’s main entry is comprised of RFID badge scanners followed by full metal detection units as used at customs control.

TBS 3D terminals provide the last step in accessing the most secure areas within the data center.

The 3D live-scan, touchless fingerprint reader is the only touchless biometric technology on the market that uses three cameras for the finger scanning process.

The solution ensures no failure-to-enroll, prevents sensor damage and is completely hygienic.

TBS’ BioAdmin Management software was integrated into Securiton’s access control system SecuriGate to provide a biometric subsystem via web services, ensuring that the responsibilities between biometrics and the overall security system remain separate.

“TBS have given us a quick access, easy to use, highly secure system with the certainty of no failure issues,” said Rudolph Anken, project leader of Swisscom.

Previously reported, Argus Global recently partnered with Touchless Biometric Systems and will be demonstrating its touchless biometric fingerprint readers at IFSEC International.
