FPC touch fingerprint sensor featured in new OnePlus 2 smartphone

Fingerprint Cards (FPC) announced that the new Android smartphone OnePlus 2 features FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor FPC1150.

Sales of FPC1150 for the new smartphone model are included in FPC’s previously reported revenue guidance of about 2,200 MSEK (USD$256 million) for 2015.

“OnePlus is a leading smartphone manufacturer in China and we are proud that OnePlus selected FPC1150 for OnePlus 2, its first smartphone integrating a touch fingerprint sensor,” said Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC. “FPC1150 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”

Previously reported, it was revealed earlier this month that 2 would feature a Nexus-style fingerprint sensor that could unlock the phone as well as perform other tasks faster than the iPhone’s Touch ID.

The previously leaked photo of the OnePlus 2 showed the FPC1150 appears on a vertical bar, under the camera and flash, on the back of the smartphone.
