VOXX Electronics and EyeLock release iris identity authentication solution

VOXX Electronics Corporation (VEC) and EyeLock announced they have introduced Enterprise myris, a USB-enabled iris identity authentication solution for companies to authenticate and manage their employees’ digital identities.

The move comes a few weeks after VOXX International Corporation announced that it successfully acquired a controlling stake of EyeLock for approximately $20.2 million.

Enterprise myris is the first USB-powered iris authentication product specifically designed for enterprises.

The solution enables the use of best practices for password protocols while diminishing any vulnerabilities related to password breaches and security issues.

Using EyeLock’s patented video-based iris authentication technology, Enterprise myris analyzes more than 240 unique characteristics in each iris and generates a unique encrypted code.

It then matches the encrypted code to the person’s eyes and grants access to the device.

VOXX International has begun integrating iris identity authentication technology in several key departments within the company’s corporate headquarters.

The integration process is being led by Rick Maddia, VOXX International’s vice president of MIS, and his team.

The implementation of Enterprise myris has already led to a decrease in internal password resets, significantly freeing up time and resources for Maddia’s team.

Enterprise myris is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Surface Pro Tablets, and works easily with digital networks in corporate environments.

Additionally, enterprise customers can use the solution to enable employees to login to Active Directory accounts and other applications that require secure authentication.

“After implementing this technology into the first grouping of departments, we have had positive feedback from our employees who were eager to test out this new technology,” said Tom Malone, president of VOXX Electronics Corporation.

“Implementation took only a few days to complete and we are thrilled to be able to provide our employees with that level of unmatched security. We are also excited to announce that the highly anticipated nano NXT Iris Access Control solution is available and is currently being integrated into our brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Orlando, Florida.”

The nano NXT uses EyeLock’s patented technology to identify people in real-time, in-motion and at-a-distance, enabling a simple and cost-effective authentication management process.

“As EyeLock expands its market reach and takes on strategic initiatives in both logical and physical access control, our partnership with VOXX streamlines our supply chain and distribution model,” said Anthony Antolino, chief marketing and business development officer of EyeLock. “VOXX’s proven capabilities will provide efficiencies in the markets we serve and will help propel us into new markets.”
