Precise Biometrics, FPC fingerprint technology integrated in two new smartphones

Two new Android smartphones introduced in China today feature Precise Biometrics’ BioMatch Mobile and Fingerprint Cards (FPC) touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025.

Precise BioMatch Mobile provides easy integration of fingerprint matching functionality for smartphones and tablets, and is optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments.

”We are pleased that yet another vendor has chosen Precise BioMatch Mobile. High performance fingerprint software is crucial to ensure a good user experience and secure identity verification”, says Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics.

Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, added, “Lenovo is a leading global smartphone manufacturer and we are proud that Lenovo selected FPC1025 for X3 and X3 Youth. FPC1025 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”

The integration will generate license revenue starting from the fourth quarter 2015.

Just last month, both companies reported that their respective fingerprint technologies were integrated into Meizu’s new smartphone model, the “Meilan Metal”, which runs on the Alibaba developed operating system YunOS.
