Imprivata releases complementary solution for healthcare authentication platform

Imprivata has released Imprivata Confirm ID, a new solution that expands and complements the capabilities of its single sign-on and authentication platform, Imprivata OneSign.

Using Imprivata Confirm ID, healthcare workers are able to quickly and securely authenticate the use of medical devices and clinical workflows. This significantly improves security and compliance without compromising efficiency or affecting patient care.

When used in concert with Imprivata OneSign, Imprivata Confirm ID provides European healthcare organizations with a comprehensive authentication platform that boosts clinical efficiency as well as improves compliance through achieving greater visibility into user interactions with patient health data.

Imprivata demonstrated Imprivata Confirm ID and its other solutions for enterprise single sign-on, virtual desktop access, multi-factor authentication, and positive patient identification this past week at the UK e-Health Week at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London.

“Healthcare data breaches remain a growing threat across Europe and other regions around the world, impacting both patients and providers alike. Hospitals increasingly recognize that they must invest in the right tools to safeguard against internal and external risks,” said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. “Imprivata is committed to protecting our customers with what we call invisible security—meaning tools that provide the highest standard of security but give clinicians quick, and easy access to data through convenient authentication methods.”

Replacing the manual entry of usernames and passwords with the tap of a proximity badge, or swipe of a fingerprint, healthcare providers using Imprivata Confirm ID benefit from a seamless, in-process authentication process when accessing medical devices or completing clinical authentication workflows.

The solution improves security and protects patient privacy, as well as allows healthcare providers to focus their time on patient care.

Previously reported, Imprivata expanded the capabilities of Imprivata Confirm ID, a comprehensive user identity and two-factor authentication platform for the healthcare enterprise, beyond electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS).
