Safran expanding its business activities in Central America

Safran Identity & Security announced it is expanding its business activities in Central America and has acquired the former office location of the Colombian-based Carvajal Group in Costa Rica.

According to a statement by the company, the new location marks an important strategic development for its business activities in Central America and Carribean, as the company becomes the first EMV card manufacturer which has a domestic presence in Costa Rica, enabling them to serve the payment industry and financial institutions in the region with innovative, high-security and EMV-based digital payment and biometric solutions.

Marcelo Bellini Garcia, VP Sales Payment of Safran Identity & Security in Latin America commented: “Our new location in Costa Rica decisively reinforces our strong position in the Central American payment market. Staying close to our Central American payment customers and offering them tailored payment products and services based on a long-term, locally based relationship is extremely important for us. In this way we ensure that we can support our customers with state-of-the-art digital ID and authentication solutions to meet the demands of transparent payment technologies of the future.”
