MeReal Biometrics named Fintech Rising Star at India FinTech Awards

MeReal Biometrics was declared a Fintech Rising Star at the India FinTech Awards 2016 held in Mumbai on November 26.

The India FinTech Awards were launched in August 2016 to discover India’s most innovative fintech companies who would be able to showcase a well-executed working product and not just ideas.

IFTA 2016 is organized by the India FinTech Forum, a non-profit initiative that offers a platform for fintech companies to collaborate and voice their opinions on relevant policy issues. The India FinTech Forum is a member of Global FinTech Hubs Federation (GFHF) where it represents the Indian fintech sector.

Philippe Blot, co-founder of MeReal Biometrics commented, “I’ve been quite amazed with the discussions that we were having with event attendees. It is great to have people appreciate our technology. IFTA 2016 has been a very well organized event.”

Kate Davies, Head of Marketing at MeReal Biometrics added, “It’s a great endorsement for us and a great first step into this amazing Indian fintech market.”

MeReal Biometrics’ patented smartcard combines a fingerprint sensor, an acoustic signature and a rechargeable battery on a traditional wallet-sized card that can be used for payments and access control across all industries with unlimited applications.

Previously reported, France’s leading casino and hotel group, Groupe Partouche, has partnered with MeReal Biometrics for a real-world testing and case study of MeReal Biometrics’ fingerprint secured smartcards. The initial test will take place in two of the group’s 42 casino and hotel properties.
