Taiwanese vendor deploys Precise BioMatch Mobile in new tablet

 

Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile, has been deployed in a tablet from a Taiwanese vendor through cooperation with Synaptics Incorporated. The patented hybrid algorithm solution is optimized for small fingerprint sensors and platforms with limited processing power and memory space.

Precise did not disclose the vendor in its media release however, yesterday, Synaptics‘ announced its Natural ID fingerprint sensors have been selected by ASUS for biometric authentication on its flagship tablet, the ASUS Zenpad 3S 10.

Precise Biometrics is currently projecting the integration will generate royalty revenue starting from the fourth quarter of 2016. Royalty revenue is based on actual sales of fingerprint sensors that utilize Precise BioMatch Mobile and cannot be forecasted by Precise Biometrics at this point.

The company’s fingerprint software is now integrated into more than 160 mobile devices from over 40 different manufacturers.
