FST Biometrics IMID technology integrated with Genetec access control system

FST Biometrics and Genetec have partnered to integrate the FST biometric identification technology, which combines face recognition and body behavior analytics, with the Genetec Synergis access control system in its Security Center platform.

As a result, FST’s In Motion Identification (IMID) technology will be deployed as a part of the Genetec Security Center.

The combined solution will manage physical secure access to facilities and allow Security Center customers to maintain their existing security setup.

Security Center users now have the option to configure an identity management component that will grant access to authorized users based on their biometric profile as they approach access points.

Organizations can also combine IMID with RFID cards for multi-factor identification purposes.

“FST Biometrics is excited to be working with one of the market leaders in facility security to not only improve the quality and accuracy of identity and access management but also to make the user experience smoother,” said Arie Melamed, CMO of FST Biometrics. “The integration of IMID into the Security Center ecosystem means that users will be identified by who they are, not what they carry – all without breaking their stride or slowing down.”

Through the integration, IMID will send Security Center users real-time alerts such as when unauthorized or blacklisted visitors attempt to enter the facility.

In addition to providing new access control capabilities to the system, IMID’s database can be easily synchronized with the existing Security Center database, ensuring that administration is not required to re-enter authorized users’ information.

“Genetec is pleased to collaborate with FST Biometrics to offer our end-users an expanded choice of secure access management options to incorporate facial recognition and body behavior analytics,” said Derek Arcuri, product marketing manager at Genetec. “Adding the capability of In Motion Identification to the Synergis access control solution in Security Center, credential holders will be able to access restricted areas more conveniently,” added Arcuri.

Previously reported, AMAG Technology has certified version 3.6 of FST Biometrics‘ IMID as fully integrated with AMAG’s Symmetry access control solution, giving Symmetry users the combined benefits of AMAG’s security with the visual identification solution offered by FST.
