Acuant updates ID document library and improves image spoofing detection

Acuant has made significant improvements to its AssureID and mobile products, such as faster updates to its identity document library and adding new image spoofing detection technology.

To meet customer demand, Acuant has added an optional data storage feature as well as support for Xamarin SDK and MySQL.

AssureID now offers a more efficient process for users to access Acuant’s document library which is continuously updated with the latest version of IDs.

The enhancement ensures that customers who are using Acuant’s library via local and cloud solutions no longer have to wait for updates when new IDs, such a state driver’s license, are introduced.

Previously, installing new software would require a lengthy testing process for businesses, especially if frequent software updates were needed.

AssureID has now separated the document library from the software installation, meaning that users can now simply upload a new file to stay up to date. As a result, customer facing websites and mobile apps can maintain the highest stability and availability.

Additionally, Acuant FRM’s new image spoofing detection technology will not approve illegitimate images, allowing for more valid transactions and preventing fraud.

“In today’s market, transaction delays mean losing customers,” said Yossi Zekri, CEO of Acuant. “We are constantly working to improve the speed and accuracy of our identity proofing solutions to allow for a frictionless experience while offering the highest level of authentication to protect against fraudulent transactions.”

Acuant provides multiple deployment options to match any company’s exact needs and use cases, such as extending product support to include a Xamarin SDK for mobile solutions.

This allows companies to deliver native iOS, Android and Windows applications using their current skills, teams and code.

The company’s AssureID Connect has extended its support to MySQL and AWS Aurora databases for companies, providing an on premise deployment option that is flexible and cost effective.

Acuant has also responded to feedback from businesses to safely and securely store customer data without resulting in a threat to Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

To achieve this, Acuant is now offering customers with the option of proprietary data encryption, which allows for future use of customer data.

Earlier this year, Mount Airey Group partnered with Acuant to release a comprehensive authentication solution for border control.
