IDEX signs innovation agreement with global payment provider

IDEX has signed an agreement with its major global payment partner to deliver advanced biometric technologies for its payment card products.

The Norwegian biometrics company will be compensated against specific roadmap milestones over the next six months.

“We are really pleased that a key partner has made this strong commitment to our technology vision and product roadmap,” said Dr Hemant Mardia, CEO of IDEX. “This relationship is a real recognition of the deep biometric expertise we have created at IDEX and that we can now deliver this into the market as a sensor solution partner. We fully expect this relationship to kick-start the monetisation of the technologies we have invested in over the last three years.”

IDEX is demonstrating its flexible fingerprint sensor for contactless biometric cards at Money20/20 this week.

The company recently expanded its sensor solution by launching an ultra-compact matcher algorithm optimized for biometric cards. IDEX card solutions include biometric modules and sensors suitable for both contact based and contactless card applications.

Last month, IDEX revealed that several new card integrators in Asia Pacific are sampling its polymer smartcard sensors for access control and government ID applications.
