Imprivata acquires Caradigm’s identity and access management unit

Healthcare IT security firm Imprivata has acquired the identity and access management business of Caradigm. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Caradigm provides a range of identity and access management solutions, including governance, risk management and compliance and clinical and IT efficiency solutions such as single sign-on and multi-factor authentication to over 100 healthcare organizations globally.

The acquisition will help reinforce authentication and access management platform for the healthcare enterprise to accelerate the development of new capabilities that will improve provider productivity.

In addition, the platform will decrease security risks and operational IT cost for hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) around the globe.

Caradigm will continue to operate as a population health company focused on bettering patient care, advancing the health of populations and lowering healthcare costs.

“We are excited about this acquisition, for the quality of people, solutions, services, and customer base, Imprivata will work closely with Caradigm in the future.” said Gus Malezis, president and CEO of Imprivata. “This acquisition will serve as a catalyst in expanding our market reach and our authentication and access management portfolio.”

Last month, RightPatient partnered with Caradigm to deliver a suite of comprehensive identity and access management solutions to protect patient identities, secure patient data, and improve clinical and IT operational efficiency.
