Acuant partners with Healthpac to automate data collection for electronic medical records

Acuant has partnered with medical billing and practice management software provider Healthpac to offer an integrated identity information capturing solution to help healthcare organizations improve efficiency and patient experiences, while reducing rejected insurance claims.

Patient information is captured from insurance cards and government IDs with Acuant’s technology, and automatically populates electronic medical records (EMRs) in seconds, according to the announcement.

“Healthcare organizations are looking for ways to streamline processes and be more efficient,” said Buddy Claborn, CEO of Healthpac. “By partnering with Acuant, we are ensuring that our customers have the best option to improve patient intake, dramatically shortening transaction times with automated data capture that reduces errors and transaction time.”

The solution is also intended to reduce costs associated with redundant forms and incorrect information in paper-based systems.

Acuant recently announced a partnership with iDentyTech to extract biometrics and other data from identity documents to improve physical access control.
