HID launches behavioral biometrics IAM service
HID Global has announced a new identity and access management (IAM) service, which uses behavioral biometrics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect fraud and cyber threats.
The company will offer its HID Risk Management Solution to financial institutions, online merchants, and service providers to protect them against zero-day malware, account takeover, phishing and other attacks, according to the announcement. The new product provides real-time risk profiling technology leveraging data analytics for three risk-based engines. The HID Risk Management Solution’s behavior engine creates a user profile with keyboard, mouse, and swipe data, as well as page navigation and application usage. Meanwhile its threat engine monitors generic threats and device IDs, and its anomaly engine analyzes transaction details.
“The HID Risk Management Solution gives businesses and consumers a new defense against cybercrime,” said Brad Jarvis, Vice President and Managing Director of Identity & Access Management (IAM) Solutions with HID Global. “By combining HID’s expertise in identity and access management with new capabilities in AI and machine learning, we are enabling organizations to better manage risk, protect customer data and defend against fraud, malware and data breaches. The combination of our HID Risk Management Solution and our mobile-based authentication application, HID Approve, creates a unique blend of security and user authorization.”
The HID Risk Management Solution is integrated with HID’s ActivID Authentication Platform for multi-factor authentication.
A series of recent announcements relating to behavioral biometrics for continuous authentication and risk assessment include the claim by BioCatch CEO Howard Edelstein that a race has developed in the market due to increased awareness of the technology.
