Paragon to provide testing for ATMAI next-generation ATM initiative

Paragon Application Systems, which provides advanced testing solutions to the financial services industry, has expanded its partnership with ATMIA to contribute to shaping the future of ATMs with technologies like biometric authentication, cardless ATM access and cloud services.

ATMIA is a consortium of ATM manufacturers, deployment companies, vendors, networks, and service providers.

Paragon and the ATMIA originally partnered over a year ago, according to the announcement. Under the partnership, Paragon provides ATM deployment companies with automated and virtualized testing solutions.

“Advanced ATM and self-service channels are being demanded by consumers as an alternative to branches that can save them time and add more convenience to their banking experience,” stated Jim Perry, CEO at Paragon. “The development of next generation machines is great, but requires the industry to move forward with next generation testing practices simultaneously. Manual tests conducted in physical labs just aren’t fast, efficient or accurate enough for today’s landscape; a new mindset must be adopted. We’re proud to work with ATMIA in this initiative as we help ensure the future of the ATM.”

A Bank of China Hong Kong spokesperson said it is rolling out finger vein identification to some 400 cash machines in the city.
