Acuant adds automotive sector customers

Acuant has added a pair of new identity verification customers in the automotive sector. The company will provide its Facial Recognition Match (FRM) and an identity verification solution to both subscription access provider Clutch Technologies and ride sharing service Pony Car Sharing.

Atlanta-based Clutch will use Acuant’s solution to authenticate driver’s licenses, and Europe-based Pony Car Sharing will use it to verify members during onboarding and accurately auto-populate its user database. Acuant’s verification technology can extract biometric and alphanumeric information from IDs and applies more than 50 forensic tests instantly. The company’s FRM matches a selfie to the biometric data contained in a government-issued ID and includes liveness detection.

“Businesses and consumers are increasingly adopting biometrics, and facial recognition in particular, as a preferred form of identity validation and verification,” said Yossi Zekri, CEO of Acuant. “With mobile devices in everyone’s pocket, new models of automotive services such as Clutch and Pony Car can automate and streamline their workflows, enable mobile and remote customer authentication and protect their assets. This is all accomplished while providing a modern and fast customer experience.”

Accuant recently announced a partnership with Healthpac to provide an integrated identity information capturing solution for healthcare organizations, and with iDentyTech to provide document validation for access control.
