Lightspeed releases new iris and face biometric fusion solution

Lightspeed Technology announced the release of a new iris and face biometric fusion solution that offers healthcare providers new levels of security and convenience.

According to a company statement, Lightspeed overcomes barriers for optics-based biometrics using patented illumination technology and a single multibiometric camera. The new innovation achieves exceptional ID accuracy ensuring zero errors with no need for additional credentials or personal information. Market applications include patient identification, SSO/logon, access control and records security.

The miniature camera can be clipped to a monitor or embedded into a device via USB to simplify biometric security and delivers optically-rich images that exceeds ISO/IEC standards. The touch-free and automated graphic user interface helps users position their face while Lightspeed confirms liveness and captures a single high-quality face and dual iris image within 3-5 seconds from a distance of 14-20 inches. Lightspeed’s fusion technology converts the image into a composite digital record that is encrypted and combined with a time stamp, IP address, and device ID. The matching process is completed in the cloud.

Lightspeed supports customer operations across a variety of industries and can be deployed without changes to legacy systems or existing applications. The system is compatible with third-party 2FA verification software by cell phone.
