Fujitsu biometric remote patient engagement software launched to Epic marketplace
Fujitsu America has launched its MedClick medication adherence and patient engagement product to the Epic App Orchard marketplace to help improve adherence and reduce healthcare costs.
Epic APIs allow Fujitsu to enable better communication between healthcare professionals and their clients, and healthcare professionals using MedClick can view near real-time information about patient medication adherence, according to the announcement. MedClick’s dosage diary and FDA-cleared, enterprise level mobile communication platform have been integrated with Epic to enable engagement with patients outside of medical facilities through their smartphones and tablets. The mobile application is secured with Fujitsu Biometrics-as-a-Service, which provides multi-modal patient identity authentication.
The mobile application also includes Secure DirectClick, which allows patient to speak with healthcare providers without incurring telephone charges.
“Fujitsu is delighted to offer the MedClick solution to Epic customers to help improve patient engagement, and medication adherence for patients with complex medication regimens,” stated Jason Bradlee, Head of Security for Americas region, Fujitsu America, Inc. “We are passionate about increasing security and convenience while reducing costs for the healthcare and other industries.”
Fujitsu’s increasing presence in the healthcare space includes certification of its palm vein authentication technology for compliance with Electronic Prescription for Controlled Substances (EPCS) regulation by iBeta in May.
