NEXT Biometrics demonstrates new software development platform

NEXT Biometrics has launched a biometric software development platform, and along with German authentication solution distributor MTRIX GmbH is demonstrating it at the IT Security Expo and Congress (ITSA).

The NEXT One Touch Power SDK supports development on Windows, Android, Linux, and embedded Linux software platforms, and is designed for solutions using proprietary or ISO 19794-2 compliant template formats. The SDK supports applications with one-to-one or ultra-fast one-to-many identification schemes, according to the announcement.

“One of our goals at NEXT Biometrics is to ensure we’re providing our customers with whatever assistance they need to make implementation of our advanced Active Thermal™ fingerprint sensor solutions as simple and easy as possible,” said Alain Faburel, NEXT Biometrics’ chief sales and marketing officer. “The NEXT One Touch Power SDK we’re jointly demonstrating this week with MTRIX is a tool we’re providing for our customers that allows them to quickly and easily create biometric products that emphasize their skills, creativity and technical prowess.”

The SDK is targeted to customers developing biometric solutions that incorporate NEXT fingerprint scanners and modules for enterprise, PC, and network security implementations, as well as point-of-sale devices.

MTRIX is the exclusive distributor of NEXT Biometrics’ products in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
ITSA takes place in Nuremberg, Germany, from October 9 to 11.

NEXT recently announced it had shipped one million fingerprint sensors in a five-month span, and also formed a strategic algorithm partnership with Neurotechnology.
