NEXT Biometrics ships 1M fingerprint sensors in five months
NEXT Biometrics revealed today that it has shipped more than five million fingerprint sensors to date to customers worldwide, up one million since April when CEO Ritu Favre announced organizational changes to heighten focus on operations and execution.
“Shipping five million sensors has provided NEXT with invaluable experience from a quality, logistics and operations standpoint,” said Ritu Favre, CEO of NEXT Biometrics. “At the same time, it gives our customers a high level of confidence to work with a supplier that has a proven track record of success delivering high-quality, advanced sensor technology and components globally.”
NEXT continues to supply key customers in its core notebook market but the company is also quickly ramping activity to expedite the adoption of its unique large-area sensors in other priority markets. The company notes that it is committed to expanding its presence in the smart card, government ID and access control segments.
Earlier this week the Norwegian biometrics firm announced it had purchased a source code license for the FingerCell algorithm from Neurotechnology.
