secunet app for mobile identity checks now available for iOS

secunet announced that its app for mobile identity checks, secunet bocoa, is now available for the iOS platform enabling police forces to be able to use iPhones for mobile identity verification.

The solution was developed in partnership with Swiss company Dataphone and will be presented at the it-sa exhibition this month in Nuremberg.

The secunet bocoa software application quickly reads the data from the RFID chip of the electronic ID document and displays document check results on the smartphone. The app is based on the secunet biomiddle platform, which allows a flexible integration of the verification processes as well as software and hardware components via standard interfaces. secunet bocoa is also available for Android.

The hardware for the new iOS-based solution is provided by secunet’s partner Dataphone. Dataphone provides the hardware sleeve including NFC module and spare battery. Combined with the appropriate certificates, smartphone sleeves from the Linea Pro series make it possible to read and subsequently also check the RFID chips contained in eID documents.
