IDEX announces biometric card partnership with Excelsecu

 

IDEX Biometrics today announced that it is collaborating with Shenzhen Excelsecu Data Technology Co. (Excelsecu) to develop battery-less dual-interface biometric cards with display.

Excelsecu is a Chinese data security supplier and solution provider and its product portfolio includes display cards, authentication dongles and tokens, and smart cards for the financial services industry, government and enterprise. Several of China’s largest banks are Excelsecu clients including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China, and the Bank of Communications.

“Excelsecu is a well-established and trusted player in the Chinese data security space,” explains Stan Swearingen, CEO of IDEX Biometrics. “The company offers a range of high quality authentication products, and we strongly believe many of these products will become even more secure and convenient with the addition of our fingerprint technology and biometric systems expertise.”

Liuzhang Chen, VP of Excelsecu added, “Working with IDEX Biometrics, to bring to market dual-interface biometric smart cards with display, is a great example of our innovation. We look forward to working with the IDEX team and using their market leading technologies to make this innovative product a reality.”

In the last two weeks IDEX has announced biometric card partnerships with Chutian Dragon, Infineon and CEC Huada Electronic Design Co.

According to the company’s third quarter report, IDEX has made significant progress towards commercializing its biometric smart card products.
