German police donate Regula document readers to Montenegro border officers
Regula announced that the German police have donated five new Regula 7308 mobile document readers to their Montenegrin colleagues, Vijesti Online reports
The Regula 7380 device is a compact mobile full page passport reader with no moving parts inside that performs automatic reading and authenticity verification of biometric passports, IDs, visas, driver’s licenses and other identification documents.
The handover of the donated equipment was approved by the Montenegro Chief of the Border Police Vesko Damjanovic and the liason officer of the Federal Police of Germany Oliver Has. Damjanovic said that this is the most modern equipment for document verification used by the officers at border crossing points and that it will help to protect the country from cross-border crime.
In addition to the donation of the document authenticity verification equipment, a number of specialized training courses for detection of forged documents will be carried out in the nearest future.
Regula released an update of its Document Reader SDK, 4.12.3 last December. This new version includes an updated database of 6,763 document templates from 242 countries and territories. 180 of the templates are new.
