Ipsidy partner implements biometric authentication for payment service clients

Ipsidy and its authorized reseller Safetrade Africa have announced that Safetrade’s Xpressa Payment Solutions division has successfully implemented Ipsidy’s Verified Portal for smartphone-based user authentication.

Xpressa Payment Solutions provides point-of-sale and online payment gateway services to vendors, and has implemented Verified for its call center operations to quickly identify customers and authorize changes to their account profiles or bank accounts. Verified Portal is an out-of-the-box solution which requires no integration, according to Ipsidy, allowing customers to capture a selfie in their trusted Ipsidy mobile application for identity authentication and business transaction approval.

The implementation has cut Xpressa’s customer verification time from 60 to 90 seconds down to 20 to 30 seconds, saving an average of twenty minutes per agent per day.

“Ipsidy and Safetrade look forward to continuing to offer Ipsidy’s suite of innovative mobile biometric authentication solutions in South Africa and to improve other businesses’ daily operations by increasing productivity and enhancing security for everyday transactions with biometric identity,” says Ipsidy Managing Director Jonathan Ellis.

The partnership between Ipsidy and Safetrade was reached in October of last year, and Ipsidy has since partnered with Ayonix to develop an edge 3D facial recognition access control product.
