HID Global launches cloud Authentication Service for enterprise on-boarding and IAM
HID Global has launched its new HID Authentication Service to simplify leveraging biometrics and other factors for user onboarding and to provide frictionless authentication for identity and access management (IAM) customers struggling with regulations across a number of industries.
The new HID Authentication Service is part of the company’s cloud identity platform, and removes complexity and challenges from the provision of multifactor authentication, according to the announcement. HID also says its new IAM cloud solution will continue to build in new services to allow organizations to accomplish new identity goals by leveraging their existing technology, and provides audit logs to simplify GDPR, PSD2, California Privacy Regulation and HIPAA compliance.
“HID Global continues its move toward cloud solutions with the addition of new IAM services, expanding the offering with a unifying technology platform for our millions of users,” says HID Global Vice President & Managing Director of Identity & Access Management Solutions (IAMS) Brad Jarvis. “HID is among the only IAM solution providers that can offer authentication for high security use cases all the way down to basic enterprise multifactor authentication. With this breadth of solutions, we believe that organizations in regulated markets, in particular, will gain the most significant benefits from the HID Authentication Service.”
As a cloud offering, the new service is flexible, scalable, and cost-effective, and HID is making APIs available to developers, partners, and managed security service providers to enable them to integrate the HID Authentication Service with third-party software and customer access portals such as healthcare patient portals for HIPAA compliance. The new cloud solution is also purpose-built for IT teams managing identities in mixed environments, and is an ideal platform for large-scale rollout, testing, provisioning, and delivery of authentication services for networks and applications, according to HID.
BIO-key recently launched a SAML solution for cloud and IAM applications as enterprises seek to strengthen their authentication methods with biometrics.
