IDEX expands commercial presence in Asia to meet demand for biometric payment solutions

 

IDEX Biometrics continues to grow its commercial presence in Asia to meet increasing demand for its biometric payment solutions. To help meet this demand the Norwegian firm has partnered with Chinese smart card manufacturer Sian Intelligent Technology to ensure successful integration of biometric components into smart cards and accelerate mass volume production.

“The market for biometric smart cards is gaining considerable momentum,” says Stan Swearingen, CEO of IDEX Biometrics. “Our biometric sensors are ready for mass deployment in smart cards and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Sian to help achieve this.”

“IDEX is the leader in biometric technology and we are very pleased to be partnering with them,” adds Hailin Zhu, CEO at Sian. “Together we can ensure that crucial components within the biometric smart card are compatible and ready for mass production.”

IDEX is also working with Chutian Dragon and PAX to accelerate biometric card adoption in Asia.

According to the company’s recent annual report, IDEX is poised for biometric smart card growth having established a volume production supply chain, expanded its direct sales capacity, and formed global partnerships to bring its fingerprint sensors to the card market.
