Zetes to present on public service delivery and showcase biometric solutions at ID4Africa

Zetes is returning as a Platinum sponsor of ID4Africa for the movement’s fifth annual conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, June 18 to 20, and will participate in multiple information sessions to share insights into the need for integrated civil registration systems.

The theme for ID4Africa 2019 is “Identity Ecosystems for Service Delivery,” and Zetes will focus on the “Know Your Citizen” concept, according to the announcement. The company’s Regional Director for ECOWAS/CEMAC, Jérôme Coulon, will deliver a presentation titled “Beyond Identity: The enhancement of public services to citizens” on day one of the event, and Solution Architect Dr. Extase Akpotsui will present an empirical approach to the same topic. Dr. Akpotsui also presented at ID4Africa 2018 in Abuja, Nigeria.

“The identification of citizens serves a greater purpose than just the identification in itself,” says Zetes People ID Division Senior VP Ronny Depoortere. “The ultimate goal is to be able to offer better services to those citizens and to be able to rely on correct information in order to take enlightened administrative decisions. Therefore, national identification programmes always need to add this extra dimension into account. The ID4Africa movement perfectly understood this reality and, together with them, we hope we will be able to convince government officials to put the identity at the centre of complete ecosystems.”

In addition to its ZetesPersona offering, which includes population register and identity card products, Zetes will also present its ZetesOrbis border management solution, ZetesVox elections solutions, ZetesSana healthcare ID solution, and ZetesVia drivers’ identification solution at ID4Africa 2019.

Biometric Update will provide extensive coverage of ID4Africa 2019 as the event’s official journalist.
