Biometrics startup GLOBAL ID partners with Atos

GLOBAL ID announced that its 3D finger vein biometric identification system is now available to Atos customers through a recent partnership agreement.

The biometrics startup developed the technology with EPFL’s Security and Cryptography Laboratory, and is continuing to reduce the size of its scanners. The company says scanner size will be halved in the next three months, enabling mobile use.

Jura Hospital in Switzerland is testing the biometric identification system to meet requirements for hospitals and other institutions under the country’s E-Health initiative.
