Giesecke+Devrient deploys Fingerprint Cards biometrics in European bank card trial

 

Fingerprint Cards announced today its collaboration with Giesecke + Devrient Mobile Security to bring contactless biometric payment cards to the market. The biometric card is currently being piloted by Crédit Agricole in France, a top three European bank.

The biometric cards are manufactured and customized by G+D and feature Fingerprint Cards’ T-Shape module which has ultra-low power consumption and is tailored to be integrated in smartcards using standard processes.

There are now 20 pilots of contactless biometric cards around the world using Fingerprint Cards’ fingerprint technology.
