Adaptive fraud prevention with behavioral biometrics launched by Kount

Kount has launched adaptive protection technology to prevent account takeover fraud with behavioral biometrics, policy customization, and rich login data, according to a company announcement.

The company says the new solution is the first of its kind in the industry, providing a customizable, unified software for combating malicious logins, bots, credential stuffing, and brute force attacks while enabling personalized customer experiences with adaptive friction.

The new Kount Control – Account Takeover Protection consists of protection, policy and customization, and reporting and data presentation layers.

“As fraud continues to become more sophisticated and exploits vulnerabilities beyond payment transactions, it is critical companies look to an account protection solution like Kount Control,” says Julie Conroy, research director at Aite Group. “Through the Identity Trust Global Network, Kount Control lets companies assess the risk level behind each login and deliver customized user experiences to maximize their desired business results.”

The solution’s protection layer analyzes user behavior and anomalies at the device and network level to detect high-risk login activity to determine whether it should be allowed, declined or challenged with step-up authentication in real-time. Kount has an established relationship with BehavioSec to integrate behavioral biometrics like keystroke dynamics into its fraud management products.

At the policy and customization layer, businesses can identify special categories of users, such as VIPs or trial users. The company says Kount Control provides a richer set of data than competitors, enabling the delivery of adaptive friction with precision. Login trend data and IP information, which are not often available to fraud teams, are provided by the reporting and data layer, and can inform future policies, according to the announcement.

“Our new Kount Control Account Takeover Protection is the industry’s first solution to provide an adaptive and customizable way to not only prevent account login fraud, but also personalize the customer experience,” comments Kount CEO Brad Wiskirchen. “With account takeover fraud up 78 percent in recent years, this is something businesses need to address now.”
