IWBF biometrics and forensics workshop to be broadcast online

The 8th International Workshop on Biometrics and Forensics (IWBF-2020) has been recast as an online event with an option for physical attendance by those whose travel is not restricted.
The event will be broadcast for registered participants by the organizers, with remote presentations and activities carefully planned to fit the model, according to an announcement. The previously published fees have been reduced according to the circumstances.
The workshop will still take place April 29 and 30 in Porto, Portugal, and will include the awarding of the Computers Journal Best Paper Award by MDPI’s Computers. A special edition of the IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity Science is also being organized. Peter Eisert of Humboldt University Berlin and Fraunhofer HHI and Zeno Geradts of the Netherlands Forensic Institute and University of Amsterdam will deliver keynotes on biometric attacks.
The IMBF-2020 is organized by the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and the European Association for Biometrics (EAB).
Topics covered by event presentations include, emerging forensic biometrics and their ethical and societal implications, detection and mitigation of adversarial attacks on biometric systems, explainable AI, emerging threats and large-scale deployments.
