Telpo’s smart package mailing and collecting solution features biometric identification and fever detection

Telpo’s smart package mailing and collecting solution features biometric identification and fever detection

Contactless technologies from Telpo similar to those provided to ensure safe work reopening are now being applied to package delivery, with two new solutions combining biometric facial recognition and temperature sensing with package processing capabilities.

While many people prefer to use contactless delivery or self-service package mailing and pick-up, these processes have at times led to destroyed or stolen packages. Telpo says its solution addresses these issues, while also reducing courier contact and human resource costs.

Both solutions begin with the creation of a secure area with biometrics and body temperature scanning. The package mailing solution includes a visual recognition machine, which automatically displays weight and delivery information, and processes payments through QR codes or facial recognition, or with a payment card at a POS terminal. The package collecting solution allows customers to easily find their package in a delivery locker, and then confirm receipt by placing the package on a self-serve kiosk. The kiosk scans the package’s barcode, and allows the customer to leave with the package.

Both solutions are offered as complete hardware, software, and platform integrations, which Telpo says makes deployment easy and reduces cost.

Telpo also recently launched a facial recognition device with a thin form-factor to meet a variety of needs for reopening businesses.
