Next Biometrics partners with software maker, Alcatraz and LumenVox each join partner programs
Next Biometrics has partnered with GlobalLogic to move some of its software development activities related to biometric solutions out of the organization and focus its in-house talent on the company’s core competencies.
When taking over as CEO, Peter Heuman found that Next Biometrics has strengths in its technology, customers, and engineers, but by performing almost all development in-house, was running at a higher cost than is supported by current revenues. In order to increase efficiency, lower costs and risks and support scaling, the company decided to seek an outside vendor partner.
That partner is GlobalLogic, which is described by Next Biometrics as a software provider and a digital product lifecycle company. GlobalLogic has experience working with customers including Google, Microsoft, HP, and Panasonic, and has worked with other technology sectors globally.
GlobalLogic also brings experience with biometrics to the partnership, as well as with companies related to smartphones, PCs and other hardware.
The company took over some areas of Next’s software activities starting on July 1, 2020, after a couple of months of collaboration on handover and knowledge transfer processes.
