AuthenTrend partners with Broadcom for fingerprint biometric web login solution

Fingerprint-Identification

AuthenTrend is introducing a Bio-SAFE hardware-based password management solution to its biometric security key product ATKey.Pro through a new partnership deal with Broadcom.

ATKey.Pro is the industry’s most secure and best fingerprint biometric experience FIDO2 security key, according to a company announcement.

AuthenTrend said in a news release that the new deal will facilitate logins to websites or browser-based applications by users who will no longer be required to key in long or complicated usernames or passwords, instead simply using their fingerprints.

The USB-connected, hardware-based password manager can store hundreds of sets of user credentials. Users download the Bio-Safe application and browser extension to use the ATKey.Pro for web logins. The device matches fingerprints in less than a second, and was integrated with RSA SecurID Access for enterprise access control earlier this year.

The company explains that unlike many existing password managers which store user credentials such as usernames and passwords in vulnerable web browser caches or out in the cloud, ATKey.Pro securely records these credentials and user biometrics locally in the hardware using the Broadcom tamper-resistant CV security chip.

ATKey.Pro is built on top of the FIPS140-2 Level 3 certified Broadcom Credential Vault (“CV”) featuring BroadSAFE security architecture, which combines extra security and convenience, says AuthenTrend.
