Auxiliary examination services provider Innovatiview and TECH5 have jointly announced a partnership last week to work on a new facial recognition-based examination ID solution in India.

Built on the exam security solutions of Innovatiview, the solution is enhanced via integration with T5-Face, TECH5’s flagship touchless biometric technology.

T5-Face’s high accuracy (99.98 percent) is achieved via a combination of convolutional neural networks utilizing up to date architecture and progressive methods of training.

Through T5-Face, the new solution will now enable digital onboarding of students and candidates in India. Students can use the software tool to capture biographical data and a selfie, in order to verify candidates’ identity at a registration desk upon arrival at the examination venue.

The goal behind the new project is to use biometric identity verification to prevent identity fraud malpractices that would lead to the impersonation at the student examinations of individuals other than the actual candidates.

“Aligned with our vision to make India’s examination industry to greater heights by providing unwavering support in curbing fraudulent practices,” said Innovatiview Founder Ashish Mittal, “this partnership will utilize TECH5’s flagship product T5-Face to strengthen our bouquet of examination security solutions in India.”

The solution will now be deployed by various universities and government organizations in India to ensure the identity of more than six million individuals annually.

“With this global partnership, we bring AI-based, high-speed and touchless biometric face recognition technology to India, enabling efficiency in the real-world projects like examination security, especially in these unprecedented COVID times,” Mittal added.

Moving forward, TECH5 and Innovatiview said they intend to integrate T5-ABIS and T5-IDencode into the new solution. The former is an identification and deduplication platform, and the latter a mobile examination ID tool for offline verification.

Commenting on the news, Rahul Parthe, co-founder and CTO at TECH5 said the new collaboration will help reduce identity fraud in the examination process in India.

“We are proud to partner with Innovatiview […] We believe that our biometric solutions will elevate the security of the examination process to a new level without compromising convenience.”
