Rank One unveils real-time face biometrics video analytics solution

Rank One Computing has released a new facial recognition plugin for Milestone’s XProtect Video Management System (VMS) to provide instant analysis of video streams.
Dubbed ROC Watch, the plugin is programmed to extend VMS’s capabilities in biometric security, logistics, and hospitality.
The biometric security tool learns and manages systems via Milestone’s XProtect Smart Client, with its distributed architecture allowing for flexible installation requirements, according to the announcement.
ROC Watch is built on the U.S. developed facial recognition algorithm with accuracy and efficiency confirmed by NIST FRVT metrics.
“[It] transforms situational awareness by providing accurate, real-time alerts when persons of interest visit your building,” commented Rank One Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel David Ray.
The tool offers a number of features, including the viewing of encounter logs and the possibility of organizing visitors into specific groups.
“Instead of combing through footage, security professionals can now respond to live events as they unfold and perform investigations from a baseline knowledge of all person encounters,” Ray added.
It can also automate systems actions like alarms, access control, and more once the algorithm recognizes a specific face, as well as investigating incidents on an identity-level basis.
“ROC Watch makes the security camera effective for real-time use and comprehensive in after-action use,” Ray explained.
The tool would also allow companies to save on security expenses, the company says.
“Relative to competing solutions, ROC Watch pays for itself through savings on hardware due to Rank One’s industry-leading speed and efficiency,” Ray said.
Moreover, ROC Watch can also autonomously document and manage visitors with notes, names, and other metadata regarding specific individuals.
Finally, the biometric plugin allows for reports about individual people or groups, including their location history, appearances, and more to be downloaded.
ROC Watch is already available for demonstration and evaluation.
Rank One just appointed a new CEO to lead the company’s next growth phase.
