Aware appoints new board member, BioRugged brings on biometrics project specialist

Aware has appointed Gery Evee to its Board of Directors as a Class I director and a member of its nominating and corporate governance committee.

Evee brings business, technical, and cybersecurity expertise to the board from his time as the Founder and CEO of Evee Consulting Group, and with IBM’s Cybersecurity Business Unit.

Aware recently launched an update of its ABIS for large-scale biometric civil ID and law enforcement projects.

BioRugged appoints new project specialist

BioRugged has added Riaan Steenberg as a project specialist to drive new implementations and technical support of its mobile biometric products, according to a LinkedIn post.

Steenberg has served as a Head of Operations for a leading South African wireless application service provider, which included projects for customer enrollment and facial recognition. He has also worked at three telecom providers in South Africa.

“I am excited to be part of the growing BioRugged team and building long-lasting relationships with our system integrators and their end customers, delivering BioRugged’s growing product line and supporting it with my team,” Steenberg comments.

BioRugged CEO Arnd Langguth recently spoke to Biometric Update about the company’s growth trajectory, and research and development into new biometric products.
